The profile images of the participants in a WhatsApp group will be displayed within the chat screen.
In both an individual and a group chat, when you are in the WhatsApp conversation window you only see the name or names of those who are inside. In an individual one it is yours and that of your contact, in a group one the name of each member who is speaking appears, to highlight that this message is yours.
But there are no more visual cues, so the app is going to fix this by adding a visual novelty.
The name on the SIM
Currently, in group chats, only the messages sent by each contact appear, with the name with which it has been saved on the device or on the SIM card at the top. If they are not previously saved, the telephone numbers with the regional prefix appear first (for example, +34 in the case of Spain). Also, in both cases, the contacts are differentiated by random colors.
Imagine that you are in a WhatsApp group chat, you send a message, and next to it your profile picture appears in tiny next to it on the chat screen itself. And another contact answers you and his image appears. It is a visual clue to better differentiate who is speaking and that we have already seen in other chats. And it is something that WhatsApp is testing.
Profile photos within WhatsApp group chats
As the experts at WABetaInfo have found out , WhatsApp is planning to introduce a user interface change to its popular groups. A change that has been requested for a long time: profile photos of the group participants.
When this feature is released to beta testers, the profile photos of the other group participants will be displayed alongside all incoming messages within the group chat, in a future app update. As with Reaction Preview, there is no way to disable this feature as it will always be on by default for everyone in the party and there is no switch for it.
This feature is under development so we don't know when WhatsApp will release the changes generally. What we would venture to ensure is that it will also reach individual chats.
