The Japanese Suzuho Makaze becomes the first actress to embody the agent James Bond 007. This will be done on a famous theater stage in Japan.

Do you know the Takarazuka Revue? This Japanese theater troupe will perform a play adapted from the novel  Casino Royale in which all the roles will be played by women. At the forefront of these, the actress Suzuho Makaze, who will have the honor of being the first woman to embody James Bond.

According to MI6-HQ , which reports the information, the famous spy will not become a spy, it will be a man played by a woman. Moreover, all the protagonists of the play will undergo the same treatment. It is the opposite of kabuki, a Japanese theatrical form in which all the characters are played by men.

007 "will probably remain a man" according to his producer

Entitled  Casino Royale - My Name Is Bond , the play will be performed at the Takarazuka Grand Theater in March and April 2023 before moving to Tokyo in May and June. It is directed by Shuichiro Koike, who will carry the action of the book, located in the early 50s, in 1968.

This is an unofficial adaptation, as  Ian Fleming 's novels have fallen into the public domain in Japan since 2015.

Is this a first step towards the arrival of a 007 woman in series or in the cinema in the years to come?
